Grec Festival Kicks Off Summer in Barcelona - Starting on the 30th June 2012

Barcelona will host the summer’s greatest party, an explosion of color, music, dance, circus and theatre performances invading the city throughout the month of July.

The 2012 Grec Festival of Barcelona kicks off on Saturday 30th June with a prodigious free opening party on Passeig de Lluis Companys where everyone is invited. Spanish bands such as Canteca de Macao and La Troba Kung-Fú will heat up the atmosphere with flamenco, reggae and passionate Spanish rhythms on a fantastic background mastered by the Belgian Theatre Tol.

Both local and international artists will participate at the event delighting the public with a variety of acts, from theatre presentations to dance shows, live concerts, digital illustrations and street art. Most of the festival’s performances will take place in the Theatre Grec and Fundacion Huan Miro, but there will be numerous venues all over the city hosting spectacles, such as Palau de la Música, Caixa Forum, Teatre Lliure and Plaça del Rei.
