The sales are now on! Shopping fever hits Spain this summer

Spain has gained its popularity as a famous shopping destination for all European fashion addicts out there with two major shopping sales per year.

Usually, summer sales in Spain start on 1st July and run until August 31st, while the winter sales take place all over the country from the beginning of January until the first day of March, both of them displaying huge discounts from 20% to 90%.

However, July and August is a great time to grab a bargain, whether you are a Spanish clothing brands’ enthusiast or a fashionista in search of  the world’s most famous designer boutiques.

Although shopping in Spain during las rebajas (or rebaixes in Catalan) can be quite an adventure, there still are a few things you should know before purchasing your flight tickets to paradise.

During the first weeks of the sales, most of the shops offer somewhere between 20% and 40 % off the original price of their merchandise, but even so, the most popular items fly off the shelves in a blink of an eye throughout this period. On the other hand, if you wait until the end of rebajas, you will certainly find the cheapest buys as the discounts can increase up to 90%, but it will be impossible to find the same range of choice, not to mention the average sizes.

As a conclusion, shopping sales in Spain are great; offering a plethora of options to choose from, but in order to get the most out of your experience, you should find the perfect balance between price and range of stock.  For that, the middle of the sales period (segundas rebajas) seems to be the ideal choice.
